Top 5 Tips That Will Make Your Instagram Amazing

Generally, when your feed looks great, people are more likely to like your photos, follow you and come back for more. Here are top tips that will make your feed #InstagramGoals!

1. Find your visual voice.

These are the things you must know to make a visually pleasing Instagram feed – a consistent look. If you are a business, your feed is your business card. It could a be a proof of how creative your team can be. Find a personality and get that right. Stick to a consistent theme! Call it vibe or soul of your posts. It’s your visual personality – boho, tropical, bold colors, minimal, white? Get some inspirations from some famous Instagrammers. Think about what you want your Instagram feed to be known for. Talk about filters as well. What is Instagram without filters, right? Using the same filter in your photos all the time is an easy way to start a theme.

2. Follow a grid layout.

This is how you position your posts in your feed. It helps you know what to post next to another post. Take time to plan your posts. For example, you know you will have to alternate between a quote and a photo. Easy. If you are not using a specific grid layout, your goal is to balance your feed. Like you can space out your photos based on the colors in them, or even the subject or background. Generally, people avoid putting photos that are too similar next to each other. They space them out. By spacing out photos that are too similar, they create contrast between each post. This will make your overall feed look balanced. Amazing, right?

3. Color coordinate.

Here’s a one level up! Color coordinate your photos. Pick 2-3 colors you know you will always use in your photos then space out your photos in your grid to balance your theme. Check the background of your photos – keep it clean. Don’t let the background distract from your main subject – unless the background is part of your strategy to get the attention of people, like a cool feature wall or the Eiffel Tower. But remember: natural light is your best friend. If you’re not using natural light when you take photos, you’re missing out because you will have higher quality and more detailed photos. Photos taken with natural light will also look better when you apply filters. Take photos in the morning or at the end of afternoon, or near your window!

4. High quality photos always win.

It will always make a difference to the number of likes that you will get as it will look sharp and inviting. You may also add a little bit of sharpness when you edit.

5. Don’t forget to have fun!

I know these are semi-strict rules, but your Instagram voice will always be your personality. This is the secret sauce of Instagram: Having fun. Your feed will never look the way you want if you’re not having fun.

Love what you do. Take your time to create what you want to see and share. There is no right or wrong with creativity. Have fun planning your feed!

How To Market Effectively In The Smartphone Addiction Generation

Admit it. All of us are addicted to our smartphones. Companies are using Whatsapp to communicate between departments and with other companies. Adults are using Facebook to communicate with each other. The younger generation are using Twitter to express their feelings. And those who hate texts love Instagram.

With these trends in mind, it is definitely a must for companies to go digital with a strategy. And how can we do this effectively?

1. Optimise page title for voice search

There is Siri, there is Google Voice Search, and everything in between. Obviously, with this trend in mind, companies should make sure their contents are voice search friendly.

Studies has shown that 60% of smartphone owners aged 18+ who used voice-enabled technology are using it to do online searches. And what’s more thrilling, 51% of them are using it to find information on a product. Isn’t this a good news for marketers?

2. Create A Multi-Touch Content

Interactive content is the way to go! Smartphone users are very attracted to multi-touch contents. They love to swipe, hold, click, and all those related gestures. Creating contents that are interactive will make them more engaged, and soon they will be converted to become your customers!

3. Mind The Connection Density

Sounds a bit technical, but it is one of the most important things to consider. Connection density, in a layman term, is when there is a potential connection that arises due to two connections that are readily connected.

For example, family gathering is high in connection density, as most of them know each other, and would possibly introduce a “potential connection” to you. On the other hand, riding a bus has low connection density, as people mostly do not blonde each other, so there’s low possibility of “potential connection”.

With smartphone users, they are somehow very social in social media, and they would highly introduce a “potential connection” in the social media itself. So please get your business marketed in Social Media!

These are some of the tips how we can market effectively in a smartphone addiction generation.

The Joy Of Awesome Blogging and Managing Social Media With A Spirited Toddler

Introducing my toddler. Spirited, talkative, and everything in between. The video was taken when I was doing a task at my phone, and he came along to look, so I switched to selfie video mode.

You can imagine the situation of me typing on the phone, with him around. I can barely write a sentence.

So how did I manage to update my personal and travel blogs? And how did I manage social media for my clients? How was I able to accommodate attending podcast interviews with different time zone from the host?

1. It’s all about the mindset

I have a 9 to 5 job (in my case, it can even go from 8 to 8). I have a one-year-old toddler seeking my fullest attention when I got home. I have a husband to talk about the day with.

And guess what? Sometimes my toddler sleeps at 12am. And I have to wake up at 6am everyday.

Tired? Definitely! Give up? No!

2. Invest in a good smart phone

This is a must-have for all the entrepreneur mothers!

At this point of time, I am writing this article at 02:07am, with my toddler twist and turn from my left arm to my stomach, to my neck.

Yes, that’s how I work everyday.

3. Download the right apps

Slack enables me to communicate with other freelance writers to exchange problems or ideas.

Pages Manager helps me to manage my pages at ease.

TripIt helps me to organise my trip planning for travel writing.

The right apps will save your life!

4. Connect With Other Bloggers and Social Media Managers

Blogging and managing social media can be a lonely and tiring journey. Joining various social media groups will definitely boost your spirit!

One of my personal favourite is Social Media United. Such a fun group to learn and have discussions!

5. Rest well, and set tomorrow’s target

Rest is important, people. Once you achieved your target, set tomorrow’s goal. Then, have a good rest!

You will feel energized by morning, knowing what you want to achieve for the day.
